Why do we need to repent?

 

What is the purpose for repentance?

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

All that are born into this world are born as sinners

Psalms 51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Let us understand the severity of sin. Think on this, our children already know how to lie, and have mischief ideas to cause trouble. All this derivers from the fall of man.

God warned Adam and Eve not to eat of one of the forbidden tree in the garden, or nether to touch it.

The Forbidden Fruit

Genesis 2:15-17 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

And the devil deceived Eve to eat from the forbidden tree of the garden

Genesis 3: 4-5 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.   

Sin in nature also gives us the feeling of guilt, shame and depression

When Adam and Eve sinned they both seen themselves naked, and in the shame they hide from God, just like us when we don't want to go to church because it reveals the sin that is in us. Why do we need to repent? John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.    

In other words, if we keep our sins we will not be able to enter into the kingdom heaven.

This place called heaven is a dream come true place. Just think, no more suffering, no more sickness, a place that can't be comprehended in the carnal flesh. This superior paradise in heaven will give us everlasting life that no man on this earth will be able to give you in this world. This is a gift of God.      

The nature of our thoughts are good and bad while we are in this world.

Ephesians 2:1-5 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

The Lord have spoken it that all will know him and the Lord will forgive us our sins

JEREMIAH CHAPTER 31:34

And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Repentance is easy, If you are truly sorry for your sins, and you want to receive the gift of salvation by Jesus Christ our Lord say these words after me.

Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Dear Jesus, forgive me a sinner, wash me in your precious blood. remove from me all bad addiction from me, let this heart of stone to be made flesh that you may sow the word in it, and from this day forward  I have excepted you as my personal savior in Jesus Christ name Amen. 

 

That's it....easy to repent
