The Christian survival kit

We need to check if we have the necessity to meet the needs for survival in this world.

Have you ever planned a camping trip? If you haven't it requires lots of planning, and preparation. First you locate the place where you will be camping, then find out the best time to go. After that it's time to gather all your gear together and make sure you have a check list on all the items you will need for your camping adventure.

Planning your camping trip requires early planning.

Now let's talk about our survival kit for a Christian. There are many needed requirements for survival as a believer in this world, and one most important is Salvation. 2 Timothy 2:10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

When we are in this world we need to protect ourselves from the filth of it. ("SIN"). It's like forgetting to put on bug spray when you are out in the wilderness trying to keep the mosques of your body from bitten you. The word of God is your preparation guide to a planned journey in this life.

Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Let the blood of Jesus cover you and the word of God guide you.

Psalm 121:7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

Camping could be lots of fun, but there are also dangers as well. As we surround ourselves with Jesus Christ in our life the adversary is always on the watch to make you fall.

Job 30:26 When I looked for good, then evil came unto me: and when I waited for light, there came darkness.

Think of camping in the wilderness, and think of snakes, bears, alligators spiders etc. There are many dangers that could ruining your fun. As believers in Christ we need to realize that living in this world we are going to experience dangers alone the way, but not to stop us from doing what the Lord wants us to do. Think about this? If we planned a camping trip, we are aware of the dangers that lurk in the wilderness, but we still go.

The Lord tells us to be aware of the dangers, but the Lord will not leave you or forsake you.

Hebrews 13:5  Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

How about food for survival? Yes, we need food. When we pack our food for our camping trip we need to remember the food that we pack must be food that will not go bad unrefrigerated, because there will not be no electricity to plug in an appliance. This is like always be ready for the any situation as a believer in Christ, Jesus.

Remember when Jesus Christ fasted and was praying for 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness?

Matthew 4: 1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. 2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. 3And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. 4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. 11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

Deuteronomy 8:3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

The point of the matter is that our strength is in the word of God. We could survive solely on the word of God to get us through life. Jesus is the master builder of your life.
