Believers in
the faith should maintain spiritual control not to let their anger go down upon
their wrath.
Ephesians 4:26-27 Wherefore
putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are
members one of another. 26Be ye
angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
4:26-27 The bible doesn’t tell us
that we shouldn’t feel angry, but it points out that it is important to handle
our anger properly. If vented thoughtlessly, anger can hurt others and destroy
relationships. If bottled up inside, it can cause us to become bitter and
destroy us from within. Paul tells us to deal with our anger immediately in a
way that builds relationships rather than destroys them. If we nurse our anger,
we will give Satan an opportunity to divide us. Are you angry with someone
right now? What can you do to resolve your differences? Don’t let the day end
before you begin to work on mending your relationship.
Let us define the Chapter
Ephesians 4:27-32 Neither give place to the devil. 28Let him
that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his
hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. 29Let
no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth,
(Matthew 26:74 Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I
know not the man and immediately the cock crew) but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may
minister grace unto the hearers. 30 (1) And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye
are (2) sealed unto the day of
redemption. 31Let all
bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away
from you, with all (3) malice: 32And
be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God
for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
4:28-32 We can grieve the Holy
Spirit by the way we live. Paul warns us against unwholesome language,
bitterness, improper use of anger, brawling, slander, and bad attitudes toward
others. Instead of acting that way, we should be forgiving, just as God has
forgiven us. Are you grieving or pleasing God with your attitudes and actions?
Act in love toward your brothers and sisters in Christ, just as God acted in
love by sending his Son to die for your sins.

Grieve: and depression of spirit,
not in order to grieve you,
(2)
The Holy Ghost is a seal
or guarantee that we belong to God.
(3) Malice: 1. (n.)
Enmity of heart; malevolence; ill will; a spirit delighting in harm or
misfortune to another; a disposition to injure another; a malignant design of
evil.
2. (n.) Any wicked or mischievous intention of the mind;
a depraved inclination to mischief; an intention to vex, annoy, or injure
another person, or to do a wrongful act without just cause or cause or excuse;
a wanton disregard of the rights or safety of others; willfulness.
Ephesians 1:13-14 In whom ye
also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your
salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy
Spirit of promise, 14Which is
the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased
possession, unto the praise of his glory.
