Let’s make
reference to a car that can’t hold a straight direction. It is like forcing the
driver of the car to hold the steering wheel against the pull causing the tires
to wear out quicker than they should last. This means the vehicle driving
system is off centered.
Proverbs
4:27 Turn not to the right hand
nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
The feeling
of conviction (off centered)
Proverbs 14:12
There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are
the ways of death
Peter was called by the Lord Jesus, and was told that he knows the truth, but ignored the warning.
Peter was called by the Lord Jesus, and was told that he knows the truth, but ignored the warning.
Acts 26:14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I
heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul,
why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
(This is like holding the steering wheel against the pull)
What happens when you let your sins
rule your way?
Do not
yoke yourself with unbelievers
II
Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with
unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and
what communion hath light with darkness? (It’s
like having a square tire with a round ones)
I John
2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the
world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Why go
back to the milk when you pass that point of age Proverbs 14:14 The
backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall
be satisfied from himself.
Hebrews 5:11-14 Of whom
we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of
hearing. 12 For
when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you
again which be the first principles of the oracles of
God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 13 For
every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of
righteousness: for he is a babe. 14 But strong meat belongeth to them
that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their
senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
If you
ignore the conviction for correction God will give you to a reprobate
mind.
Romans 1:28 And
even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a
reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Going back to the car
and your tires
If by chance, you
have noticed a bald wear on your tire simply letting you know that your car
needs a new tires and, get an aliment done because that’s what cause the wear
on the tire in the first place now, you are very aware of it, what do you do?
This is like the conviction you are feeling when the Lord is warning you to
correct your ways, it is like holding onto sin, and worrying about the
consequence afterward. Throw away those
old tires (Ephesians 4:22,23 That ye put off concerning the former
conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 And be
renewed in the spirit of your mind;
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way,
the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Strait is the gate, but very few will
enter in
Matthew 7:13,14 Enter
ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction,
and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and
few there be that find it.
