Delivered By The Lord


 
The Lord simply has done so much for us, words cannot describe.

Psalms 116:1-9

1I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.2Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.3The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.4Then called I upon the name of the LORD; O LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.5Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.6The LORD preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.7Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee.8For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.9I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.”

** We are to be thankful everyday, and to make sure that God gets all the praise and glory. He has done the impossible with all of His love for us. **

We were delivered by Jesus Christ through His precious blood.

Deliverance of:

1.   Death

2.   Tears and sorrow

And

3.   Instability

A. Death

Romans 6:1-7

“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? 3Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7For he that is dead is freed from sin.”

 

Romans 6:22-23

22But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

 

**God has given a free passage of the way out of darkness and death. He is the key to our salvation and freedom from sin and death. He is the only way to get to heaven. Many have tried over time and many still fight to try another way in but it is impossible, and it always goes back to Jesus. Jesus proved that sin has chained us and leads us to the road of death and tormentation. But He has given another way out, and that was with the price of His life. **

 

B. Tears and Sorrow

Psalms 34:15-18

“The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.16The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.17The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.18The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”

** Jesus knows the sufferings of this world; He lived among us at one time. But He proved a solution that would gain us peace without conforming to this wicked world. Through the strength of His Father in Heaven. He gave a simple life manual for us all the live by. 1.) Confession of your sins 2.) Allowing the Lord to lead your life

3.) Abide in Him and Obey His commandments 4.) love and forgive your brethren.  We will truly receive the peace that we need by following these commandments.  And to start it off, he shows compassion unto those with the burdens that they have carried for so long (sins, struggles, life,etc). **

Matthew 11:28-30

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

 

** Such wonderful and simple instructions that lead to a happier life, that gives us hope knowing what we will receive in the end. **

 

Luke 16:19-25

“There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: 20And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, 21And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.”

 

C. Instability

**Without Christ , our ways are unstable and we don’t know where we are going. We don’t know whether we are coming or going. But Jesus is the light that we need to be brought out of darkness. He is the one that can give you hope where you need it the most. **

 

 

Ephesians 5:8

For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:”

John 8:12

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”

 

**Before knowing Jesus Christ, our roads were dark and uneasy. We didn’t know if we were coming or going. Feeling unsafe, unstable and unsure where the road would lead us. At times, sure you felt you were in control of your life, thinking you are the boss of what would come ahead. But not knowing satan was directing your path, leading you to where you would soon be lead to your death in eternal tormentation. But Jesus stepped right in and offered you something that will completely change your life. Giving you an ultimatium, that brings stability, joy, peace, strength and something that no one can give you freely: Salvation- to be freed from sin and darkness. And given the chance to be in true eternal paradise in the end. But remember, He gives you a choice, seeing that we have freewill. Will you make the right decision? As you get up and take Jesus’ hand you will walk upright on solid ground, and the light will be given to you, where before you couldn’t see where you were going, now you have clear vision. Then there are some that think that without Jesus, if they will eventually find another way, a light to the tunnel. Not knowing that deception will take them away forever, where you cant turn back, and not receive a second chance. (The Lord’s return). **

 

Psalm 119:105

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

 

**Never step back in the darkness; never step back where you couldn’t see where you were going. Jesus was the Word of God made flesh, and the word is a lamp unto our feet, a light unto our path to lead us where we need to go. In that, we know we are on solid foundation, safe and grounded in the Lord. The Word of God gives us understanding in the ways we need to be grounded to live a successful life with Him. It gives us instructions of what is right and what is wrong. Breaking down all excuses and giving light to all criticisms of the many in this world.**

 

Matthew 7:24-27

“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.”

Why Don't Christian's Drink Alcoholic Bererage?






  1. Christians don’t drink alcoholic beverages because we realize the warnings
    Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.”
    Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart.”
    7For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 8But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.”



  1. Christians certainly realize the sinfulness of being a drunkard
    13Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.”
    9Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”
    17Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. 18And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;”



  1. While others see a difference between being drunkards and “social drinking”, Christians realize the Scriptures teach there is no difference
    Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; 2That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. 3For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: 4Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you: 5Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.”



  1. Christians don’t drink alcohol because we realize that it clouds our judgment.
    4It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:5Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.”
      We cannot allow our judgment to be clouded
    beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.3For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”

     I Peter 1:13
    Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;”
    7But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.”
    Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”



  1. Christians won’t engage in the drinking of alcohol because we realize that we are not to give in to such carnal desires
    Matthew 26:41
    Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
    For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.”
    12Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.”
    14But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.”
    Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”
    This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”
    And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.”
      I Peter 2:11
    11Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;”



  1. Christians won’t drink that which we are not even supposed to look upon
    Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes?30They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine.31Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright.32At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.33Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things.34Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast.35They have stricken me, shalt thou say, and I was not sick; they have beaten me, and I felt it not: when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.”

    20Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh:21For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.”




Some would argue that Jesus made alcohol for others to drink and that this authorizes social drinking.


1And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: 2And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. 3And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. 4Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. 5His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. 6And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. 7Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. 8And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. 9When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, 10And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. 11This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.”

  • They fail to realize that the word “wine” in the Scriptures does not always mean the fermenting process has occurred
    8Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all.”
  • They fail to realize that Jesus never sinned
    Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. 15For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”





    Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.22Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:”

      This is key because if Jesus made alcohol for others to drink, that would have been a sin
    Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look on their nakedness!”
  • Why would anyone want to accuse Jesus of putting temptation before someone?
    When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. 15Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.16Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters.”

     If Jesus made alcohol He would have caused some to lose their judgment, He would have contributed to some being alcoholics, etc.

    9. Why people cannot see that the drinking of alcohol and service to God conflict with each other is beyond me.

    But the angel said to him: “Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to call him John. 14He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth, 15for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even before he is born. 16He will bring back many of the people of Israel to the Lord their God.”
